Meet Our Founders
Many restaurant owners arrive at their careers after establishing themselves in a different field. You might be in that situation yourself! And that’s where Ken and Lisa Sweet found themselves in 2011.
Ken and Lisa love traveling and dining. The pair recognized that the experience of enjoying a good meal, and the camaraderie of friends old and new, was a special and precious commodity. They were determined to recreate those experiences in a
restaurant of their own.
After successful careers at The Boeing Company, Ken and Lisa retired and relocated to a small town near Augusta, Georgia. The couple renovated a turn-of-the-century department store, keeping the best of the old and incorporating the new, and Highrail, Southern Eatery opened its doors in May 2018.
Today, this American restaurant franchise provides its guests with chef-created, high-quality Southern and American cuisine, accompanied by top-shelf and specialty cocktails and a feeling of community.
Coming to Highrail, Southern Eatery is like coming home, and it all starts with Ken and Lisa Sweet’s spirit and love of family.
